What are the different types of itinerary?
When calculating a route, Geovelo will offer you four types of routes: balanced, direct, secure, and tourist.
The Balanced route is a compromise between the direct and secure routes. It will be faster than the secure route but will include more bike paths than the direct route.
The Direct route is the fastest route to reach your destination.
The Secure route has the most bike facilities to get you to your destination.
The Tourist route favors greenways and cycle paths. It is recommended for planning a journey but may be longer than the previous routes. It may not appear for trips under 20 km.
On our map, paths shown in brown dashed lines correspond to wide rural paths. Only our VTC calculator uses these paths.
