# How to plan a multi-day bike trip with the route planner?

| A multi-day bike trip is called a "Trip". You can adjust the route in terms of duration, add stops for lunch and overnight stays, as well as any other desired detours. This article will explain how to use the planner tool to organize your multi-day bike trip.

###### **Go to [Geovelo.app](https://geovelo.app)
* **Click on "Rides & Trips" at the top of the page, then choose "Trip"**
* Then click on **"Create a Trip"**
* Name your trip
* Enter your **departure address** and **final destination for the whole trip**
* Set the trip duration (average km per day will adjust accordingly)

###### **Click on "Plan my trip"**
* Your trip will be automatically saved.
* Geovelo will suggest stage-by-stage planning based on our **Tourism calculator**, which favors cycle routes. The trip is saved in your routes.

###### **With this suggested trip, you can:**
* Add a stage, if you want to include an additional stop
* Adjust the number of days and kilometers per day
* Rename your trip

###### **Edit the trip stages:**
* You can change the start and end of stages by dragging points on the map

###### **Each stage includes three tabs:**
* **Visits**: a list of tourist points of interest near your route. You can **add a stage** to visit them — the itinerary will be recalculated accordingly.
* **Where to sleep**: shows nearby accommodations (hotels, campsites, group lodging) around your stage end. *(Feature not available in all regions)*
* **Roadbook**: detailed navigation instructions for the route

###### **Download and share:**
* GPX files for each stage are available by clicking the download arrow. The GPX for the entire trip is available in the "Summary" view.
