# How to join a community?

**There are two types of communities, public communities, and private communities.** Both types of community offer challenges.


* **Public communities** are communities related to a specific region. You can find them in the "Communities" tab and **join them directly from the application and the website**. Only the kilometers traveled within the region will be taken into account.

* **Private communities**, on the other hand, are communities created by associations, businesses, and even by users who want to challenge their peers. These communities are **accessible through an invitation link or invitation code**. Group participants can share this invitation.

### To join **a community**:


###### On the application:

* Log in to your account if you haven't already.
* Choose the Community tab.
* Join the communities of your choice by clicking on "Join" next to the city names.
* To join a private community, select "Enter Invitation Code" and enter the code provided by the administrator.
* The communities in which you have already cycled will appear at the top of the list.

###### On our website:

* Log in to your account if you haven't already.
* Choose the Community tab on the left side of the screen.
* Join the communities of your choice by clicking on "Join" next to the city names.
* To join a private community, ask the challenge administrator to send you the invitation link.
