# How do I create a Geovelo community?

** A delay of 24 to 48 hours may occur before the creation is validated **.

### What is a community?
 
Geovelo communities make cycling more fun by bringing together cyclists from the same region or entity (companies, associations, etc.). By offering them regular challenges.
 

##### The two types of community
There are two types of community:

**Private communities** (companies, associations, etc.): All kilometres travelled from the date you joined the group are counted. 

**Public communities** (towns, cities, municipalities, etc.): Only the km driven within this territory will be taken into account in the challenge.
 
### How do I create a Geovelo community?

* On our [website](https://geovelo.app/fr/route?bike-type=own&c=1.500550%2C47.008249&e-bike=false&z=5.17)
* Click on **My profile**.
* On the left-hand side, select **Communities**. 
* Then **Create a community**. 
 
You can then fill in the **New community** information.
